Mixed Media Art
Creative expression where art meets craft
What is Mixed Media?
Mixed media is a wonderfully versatile style of art, where almost anything goes. Created in layers, it can incorporate a wide variety of mediums and techniques. What to Expect
We offer two mixed media classes each week—Monday mornings from 10am to 12pm, and Friday evenings from 6pm to 8pm year round except for public holidays. Both classes are at the same level and follow the same creative journey. The year begins with a starting point—perhaps a medium or a technique—and from there, the path unfolds naturally. Together, we explore what students are most curious about, balanced with the ideas and inspiration I bring to share. This makes every few weeks a new adventure for all of us! Classes are suitable for beginners, improvers, or anyone wanting to try something new and playful. You can check our Calendar to see what’s coming up, or phone or send a message if you’d like to know more.
Why Choose Creative Life Studio?
Beginner Friendly
Our classes are beginner-friendly, because we all have to start somewhere. I still remember how daunting it felt to join a new group when I first began, so I make it a priority to create a welcoming and supportive space. Here, you’ll be encouraged to explore, experiment, and enjoy the process as you learn new skills—at your own pace and in good company.
Everything Provided
All tools and materials are provided to make it easy to begin your art adventure. Occasionally, you may be invited to bring an image or a magazine page to add a personal touch to your work. Over time, you’ll also get a feel for which supplies you’d like to buy for your own practice. If you already have a favourite pen or paintbrush, you’re more than welcome to use it in class.
Social Connection
We’re not just here to make art—connection is an important part of our classes too. In the studio, we encourage conversation and sharing, not about politics or religion, but about personal stories and experiences that bring us together and help us feel more connected as people.
