Mixed Media Art Classes
For Joyful and Creative Self Expression
Mixed Media Art Classes
Explore a range of fun mixed media tools and techniques for making art, crafts or art journalling. In the upcoming term we’ll be focussing on ink and watercolour for sketching and loose landscapes, but also using collage, stitching, acrylics, and whatever else tickles my fancy. Join in and let’s see where the adventure takes us!
Journalling with Art
This weekly class combines the power of journalling with the freedom of art to help you understand yourself more deeply, uncover why you’re feeling the way you do, and discover new ways to navigate life. Each week we’ll explore a different theme or concept through guided journalling prompts, paired with simple creative exercises using lines, shapes, and colour for deeper insights and self expression.
Ink and Watercolour
I love, love, love watercolours—and I can’t wait to share this joy with you! In this course, we’ll explore the basics of working with watercolours and learn how to bring them to life. You’ll discover how to paint easy, abstract landscapes, create loose botanicals, add text with brush lettering, and combine sketching and ink with watercolour washes and splatters. Suitable for beginners and seasoned creatives.
About Creative Life
A few years ago, I made a promise to myself: to live a creative life, in whatever form it wanted to show up. In 2018, I first dipped my brush into watercolours, and in 2020—during lockdown, I learned the meditative art of Zentangle. Over the following two years I discovered a world of online art courses that opened my eyes to freedom and joy of mixed media art and art journalling.
Also in 2020, I discovered chalk-painting, and embarked on a mission to paint almost every piece of furniture in my house, the kitchen cabinets, and even the pots for my plants!
Once the inside was transformed, I embarked on painting the outside. My house painting project taught me so much—not just about prepping and painting, but about the process of learning something new, the patience it takes to master a skill, and the grit and determination it takes to complete something big.
Through painting and redecorating my house, and playing with paint, I also discovered just how much joy creativity brings into my everyday life.
My main work is with Enlighten Me Life Coaching & Hypnotherapy, where creativity shows up in a different way—helping my clients redesign their lives, reimagine their self-concept, and shift the way they think and behave.
In 2024 I built my art studio, and since then I’ve been making more art than ever. I’ve also rediscovered how much I enjoy sewing – going through a phase of making aprons and journal covers. Even cooking has become a creative outlet, trying new recipes in the kitchen each week.
Through creativity, I have found my joy. I’ve learned what makes me feel alive—and it’s 100% my responsibility to nurture that. Now, I’d love to share this joy of creativity with you through the classes I offer at Creative Life Studio.
